Rewired the whole house in under a week and you'd never know they'd been — spotless. Certificate through the door two days later.

07 — FAQ
Questions, answered
The things homeowners across Essex & London ask us most.
Which areas do you cover?
We cover Essex and London — including Chelmsford, Brentwood, Basildon, Romford, Hornchurch, Upminster, Southend-on-Sea, Ilford and the surrounding towns. Not sure if we reach you? Drop your postcode into the checker in our Areas section, or just give us a call.
Are you NICEIC registered and qualified?
Yes. Ellis Electrical Solutions is NICEIC-certified, and all work is carried out to the current BS 7671 (18th Edition) wiring regulations. You'll get the correct electrical certificate for the job, and we notify building control where it's required.
How much does a rewire or other job cost?
It depends on the size and age of the property and how easy the wiring is to access. As a rough guide, a rewire ranges from around £3,000 for a flat up to £7,500–£12,000 for a four-bed in Essex and London. The quickest way to get a figure is our instant estimate tool — then we confirm a fixed price with a free in-person visit. See our full guide to rewire costs in Essex.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes — estimates and quotes are always free and no-obligation. You can get an instant guide price online in under a minute, and we'll confirm the final fixed price after a free visit.
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes. We provide fast emergency call-outs across Essex and London for things like power loss, burning smells, sparks or repeatedly tripping fuses. If something feels unsafe, don't risk it — call us straight away on 07912 284977.
How long will the work take?
Smaller jobs like a new socket or light are often done the same day. A full rewire on a typical three-bedroom house usually takes around a week, depending on the property. Whatever the job, we work tidily and around your routine.
Will I get a certificate, and are you insured?
Yes to both. You'll receive the appropriate electrical installation certificate (or an EICR where that's what you need), notified to building control if required, and we're fully insured for your peace of mind.
